Marvel’s The Avengers: Age of Ultron has cast actor Paul Bettany as Vision in the upcoming Avengers sequel. Paul Bettany also lend his voice to the Iron Man movies as Tony Starks AI Jarvis, will return in a different role as Vision. In the Marvel comics, the vision first appeared in The Avengers #57 in October, 1968 which was considered the first Android version. He was originally built by Ultron to be one of his henchmen, but turned on his creator, and joined The Avengers. The Vision has been a regular on the team and is known for proving that androids can cry.
According to Variety “Bettany and Jeremy Renner, who plays ace archer Hawkeye, were at Shepperton Studios just outside London this week, meeting with director Joss Whedon. They did a series of costume, hair and make-up tests and worked with stuntmen and armourers.”
They go on to say that “Make-up experts were using various powders and potions on Bettany’s pale skin to bring about the Vision’s chalk-white complexion.” Now I’m sure any Avengers comic fan will know that the character’s face is usually red..but, The Vision was depicted early on as being completely “chalk white”, fitting the above description. Incidentally, the working title for the Marvel sequel is apparently “After Party”, but the Mail is pretty sure that will change now that the info is out there. What do you guys make of this news?
