An alleged Microsoft insider that goes by the alias “ntkrnl posted on the NeoGAF forum, revealing some future plans that Microsoft might have for the XBox One console. The insider stated Microsoft could be in the process of releasing a number of XBox One consoles, including a limited edition Titanfall model, a white XBox One and a possible XBox One with no optical Blu-ray DVD drive.
The insider also claims that a Halo 2 Anniversary is in the works for XBox One, scheduled to be released this November 11th, 2014 in two special editions. The first will be a standard collection edition that comes with beta access to Halo 5 and a Halo TV series, but it is not confirmed that the series will be directed by Neill Blomkamp. The second edition is a War Collection, which will possibly come with everything from the Collection’s edition as well as XBox One ports of the Halo 3 and Halo 4 titles.
Also the insider claimed that a new Forza Horizon is also in the works to be released, with dynamic weather system, co-op and social features, 1080p graphics with an open world that will allow players to take road trips together. Crackdown 3 does not seem to be on Microsoft’s plans for a release year but the insider says we should see one in 2016, along with Sunset Overdrive and Quantum Break which should be available at Christmas 2016.
Last but not least, we should see Fable Legends in summer of 2015 and Halo 5 following the beta released in November 2014. The insider also revealed that Black Tusk Studios will take about two and a half years to develop a new Gear of War game and the team cancelled their project called “Shangheist”. As for Titanfall a DLC should be released 45 day after launch and a few more will follow 120 day later.
